Project Spotlight: Hettich St Helier – A Fusion of Elegance and Craftsmanship

For the Hettich St Helier project, we had the privilege of working with the prestigious Italian Marble Calacatta Oro with a honed finish, quarried in Carrara, Italy. This luxurious marble, known for its striking white background and bold, flowing veins of gold and grey, exudes timeless elegance and sophistication. It brings a refined, classic touch to the space, creating a truly standout feature.

In addition to the marble, we incorporated solid brass lettering inlaid into the stone, providing a warm metallic contrast that complements the marble’s golden veining, adding a layer of refined craftsmanship. This design choice enhances the feature, bringing both beauty and function together seamlessly.

A special thank you to our Italian partner for preparing the stone and to Art Metal (Neil McKenzie) for supplying the bespoke metal work. We’re excited to share this and other elements of the project that showcase our team’s dedication to delivering exceptional results.

Earlier this year, Le Pelley worked on the restoration of the façade at the New Look building in on King Street, providing specialist cleaning services using DoFF and Thermatec systems. With high-temperature (150°C) and low-pressure steam cleaning, we’ve successfully restored the façade, preserving its beauty and integrity.

Le Pelley recently had the opportunity to work on the Greenville project in St Helier, where we provided specialist cleaning services for the façade. Using DoFF and Thermatec systems, we employed high-temperature (150°C) and low-pressure steam cleaning techniques to effectively restore the surface.

Project Spotlight: Hettich St Helier – Stone Cladding

Now, let`s reflect on another important role we played in the Hettich St Helier project. Le Pelley worked closely with EDP and ROK Construction to deliver the external stone cladding for this striking building. Our work included the development of the ground floor backing structure (SFS and cement board), as well as coordinating the integration of essential elements such as windows, blinds, external signage, a clock, and the entrance canopy.

The façade is a blend of honed Portuguese beige limestone and polished Black Zimbabwe granite, offering a timeless and elegant finish. The stone was mounted using an aluminium V-Clip framing system and custom stainless-steel bracketry, designed in collaboration with Ancon UK.

Hettich St Helier – Concrete Façade Cleaning and Restoration

Le Pelley is proud to have undertaken the specialist cleaning and restoration of the Hettich St Helier façade, a remarkable 100-year-old white concrete elevation. Using state-of-the-art steam cleaning equipment (low pressure, high temperature 150°C) and gentle vortex cleaning, we’ve brought the façade back to its original beauty.

The restoration also included the removal of large concrete elements to expose the rusty steel columns behind. These columns were then sanded and treated to ensure their longevity. Additionally, we carried out cosmetic repairs, including raking and repointing the joints to restore both the structural integrity and visual appeal of the façade.

Project: 40 King Street – St Helier, Jersey

We’re proud to be part of the exciting 40 King Street project in St Helier. This beautiful development features a combination of Beige Limestone (Portuguese honed finish) and Pink Granite (Spanish polished finish), with stone thicknesses of 30mm and 40mm.

For the first floor, the stone is secured using a bespoke Stainless Steel and Aluminium framing system designed to complement the rainscreen cladding system. On the ground floor, stainless steel bracketry is fixed to backing blockwork for added support.
